We are all concerned about keeping our rangatahi safe and motivated over the coming weeks, and we will address the issues around their care with staff from the Ministry of Health.

Ben Clark, our island liaison will chair the meeting. Our guest speakers to cover issues such as:

• Whether or not our rangatahi should remain at school
• How they will be cared for if they become māuiui, eg will they be ‘locked down’ in boarding facilities
• What systems are in place and what resources are available to continue their education during this disruptive period
• Who will cover the costs of rangatahi returning to Wharekauri if their school closes boarding facilities
• How will we encourage our rangatahi to return to school once the pandemic eases

All whānau of those attending secondary schools who would like to join this zui can do so.
