Since the original Pa Tangaroa whare burned in the 1920s our tupuna have always harboured a desire that a whare and pa be re-established. So it’s with pleasure that some 100 years later we now arrive at a point where we can achieve that.
A Pa/Marae development committee, to be chaired by Alby Tuuta, has been convened to steer the Iwi through the initial part of the development – namely:
COVID has intervened to slow our progress but it will not stop it. We will be convening this November (COVID allowing) to formally open the process and to work out how to ensure ALL whanau voices are heard.
